As you recoup from the holidays and finally settle in to the year 2016, you're likely to feel a little tired or even sick. With flu season still going strong, the American Optometric Association says that many doctors of optometry see viral infections rise at this time of the year.

Ever heard of Adenovirus? It's what causes an array of illnesses like the common cold, bronchitis, pneumonia and most commonly seen - pink eye,  or conjunctivitis.

People with adenovirus often develop redness first in one eye, with the other eye showing signs of infection several days later. They may present with fever or tearing of the eye, or have a recent history with acute upper respiratory infection.

Just make sure to be extra vigilant with washing your hands, touching your eyes/face and items you share with other individuals.
