2016 is finally here, and we have some New Year's resolution suggestions for you. We think these will be easier to stick to than trying to lose weight or drink less coffee. Why? Because we can help you with these.
Schedule a comprehensive eye exam.
First things first, scheduling a regular eye exam is a must. A comprehensive eye exam includes dilation, which helps Dr.Ephraim look deep in to your eyes and see any potential issues. Your eyes change constantly, so just because you can see just fine, that doesn't mean your eyes don't have any issues. Scheduling your visit at the beginning of the year is not only easy to remember, but you'll be set for the year!
Update your prescription.
While you're with us for your eye exam, we'll check you prescription and make sure it's still current. Again, just because you feel like you can see clearly, doesn't always mean you can. Your eyes will naturally try to adjust to an older prescription over time which can cause strain. Check out our frame selection or our array of contact lenses to get a fresh look for the new year.
Cut back on digital eye strain.
It's no secret we spend a large amount of time on digital devices, like smartphones or computers. Make a strong attempt to cut back and give your eyes a break. An easy way to do that is to follow the 20/20/20 rule. Every 20 minutes, look away from your screens for at least 20 seconds at something 20 feet away. There's handy Google Chrome extension that makes that super easy.
Protect your eyes.
Even in winter, UV damage is still an issue. Always protect your eyes from the sun with sunglasses or hats. And while we're at it, make sure you wear protective eyewear during recreation activities, like basketball or swimming.
