There's really no eloquent way to put it. American is getting old. Well, I suppose you could say American is aging. That sounds a little better. By 2030, 72 million Americans are expected to be over the age of 65, according the U.S. Census Bureau's estimate. One of the many parts of getting older includes eye-related health issues - including diabetes. 

Did you know, Optometrists are often the first to diagnose the disease? About 1.9 million new cases of diabetes were diagnosed in people 20 years of age and older in 2010. If that current trend continues, we're looking at 1 in 3 adults having the disease by 2050.
